We have been sitting here at B 157 in the Sector 16 Auto Market for quite a few years now. If you have ever been to this part of town, you know it is always humming with the sound of engines and tools. It gets pretty dusty out there on the street, especially when the wind picks up in the afternoons. Our shop is just one of many in this row, and we have gotten used to the noise and the constant movement of people looking for parts or getting their cars fixed. Inside, things are a bit quieter but still busy. We spend a lot of time just moving boxes around and checking the inventory. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the desk is cluttered with old ledgers and pens that barely work. We open the shutters early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. By noon, the sun hits the front of the building and we usually have to pull the shade down. Most of our day is spent talking to the same few delivery guys and making sure everything is where it should be. It is not a glamorous place, but it is our workspace and we are used to the rhythm of the market. Sometimes we sit out front on a plastic stool just to watch the traffic go by during a slow patch. It’s just a normal day-to-day life here.
