Am Offsetters

The shop is over in Sector 10 at A-57, right in the middle of all the other small units. If you come by in the morning, the first thing you’ll notice is the smell of ink and the sound of the machines starting up. It gets pretty loud in here once everything is running, so we usually have to shout a bit to hear each other. I spend most of my time moving stacks of paper from one side of the room to the other or checking the levels on the presses. It's dusty work and your hands are almost always stained with some color or another by lunch time. We’ve been in this building for quite a bit and the walls have definitely seen better days. There’s a tea stall just around the corner where we get our chai twice a day, which helps when we have a big pile of orders to get through before the sun goes down. Sector 10 is always busy with trucks and tempos moving in and out, so parking is usually a bit of a headache. We don't have a big office or anything, just a small desk in the corner covered in invoices and old samples. It’s just us doing what we know how to do. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, but that’s just how it goes here. We try to keep the machines clean even though the dust always finds a way back in.
