Our setup at Alok Jain Exim is located at D-49 in Sector 20, Noida. It’s a pretty established part of the city, and we’ve been working out of this building for a good stretch now. The place is basically a mix of office space and storage, depending on what we have going on that week. It’s not the kind of office you see in movies with bright lights and matching furniture. We’ve got older desks and chairs that have seen a lot of use, but they work fine. Most of our day is taken up with the ins and outs of import and export, which means lots of shouting over the phone and checking lists. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a big sign or a fancy entrance. If you come by, you’ll probably find us mid-conversation about a container or some customs papers. The neighborhood is fairly quiet compared to the industrial sectors, which is nice. We take our lunches together sometimes or just grab something from the local vendors nearby. It’s a practical way to run a business, and we prefer it that way. No one here wears a suit unless they absolutely have to. We just want to get the items shipped and the records cleared so we can head home on time. It is a straightforward operation without any of the extra fluff you find in bigger companies. We just get on with the business.
