Being at No. 11 in the Main Market of Govindpuri means there is never a quiet moment. Riwaz Creations is right where all the action happens. If you know the Govindpuri area, you know how packed the lanes get with shoppers and rickshaws. We are usually inside, surrounded by piles of cloth and different patterns we are working on. It’s a small space, so things can get a bit cluttered when we have a big project going on. We handle a lot of traditional stuff, mostly because that’s what people around here want. My cousin helps out sometimes, and we just try to keep up with the demands of the neighborhood. The market stays open late, so we are often here long after the sun goes down. It’s not a fancy boutique or anything. It’s just a regular shop where we do our work. We see the same faces every day, people going to buy groceries or heading to the metro. Sometimes the tea man stops by and we take a quick break. Otherwise, it’s just the sound of the scissors and the sewing machines. We don't really do big advertisements. Most people just walk in because they saw our sign while walking through the market. It gets hot in the summer, but we have a small fan that keeps us moving. We just try to finish what we started.
