Lalit Kirana Store

Lalit Kirana Store is right in the Unitech Horizon building in Sector Pi 1. It is a big residential area, so we get a lot of people living in the apartments coming in for their daily needs. We are very close to the Depot Metro Station, which means we see a lot of commuters in the morning and evening. They usually grab a bottle of water or some biscuits on their way to work. We started the store to make things easier for the people living in the building. Before we opened, you had to walk a long way just to get a loaf of bread. Now, people just come down in their slippers. The store is packed with all kinds of things from soap to rice. It’s a bit tight in the aisles because we try to stock as much as possible. I run the counter most of the time, and my son helps out after his classes. We aren't a big supermarket chain, just a local shop trying to serve the neighbors. Sometimes the metro station gets really crowded and the street outside gets noisy, but inside the store, it’s usually just the sound of the fridge humming. We know most of our regular customers by their names. It is nice to have a chat while they are buying their groceries. We try to keep things simple and stay open late for those coming home on the last train.
