Ashok Kumar Kirana Store is right on Gejha Road in the Raghuraj Market area of Bhangel. We are at Shop No.1, which is a convenient spot for people walking through the market. This is a very traditional kirana store. We deal in all the basics like lentils, spices, tea, and sugar. The market is always loud and crowded, which is just part of the experience of being here. We have sacks of grain sitting on the floor and shelves filled up to the ceiling. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we know exactly where everything is kept. We’ve been in Bhangel for a long time. People come to us because they know we are honest about what we sell. We don't have any big missions or slogans. We just want to provide the things people need for their kitchens every day. Sometimes we sit on the wooden bench outside when it’s slow and talk to the other shopkeepers in Raghuraj Market. It’s a community of small businesses all trying to keep things going. We work long hours, especially during the festival seasons when everyone is buying extra supplies. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know. We don't need anything more than our shop and our regular customers. The floor gets a bit muddy when it rains, so we have to keep mopping.
