Sargaon Farmer Producer Company Limited

Sargaon Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Gram Sargaonnayapara, right on the Nagpura Road. We operate from Parmanand Sahu’s place. It is a quiet part of Sargaon, but there is always a tractor or a truck passing by on the road. We are just a group of local farmers who felt we needed a better way to manage our harvests. Instead of everyone doing their own thing, we come together here to organize. Parmanand’s house is where we keep our files and meet up when the sun goes down. It is not a formal corporate environment at all. We sit on plastic chairs and talk about the price of fertilizer or the rain clouds. The Nagpura Road is our main link to the rest of the district, so we spend a lot of time watching the traffic and planning our transport. Life in Sargaon moves at its own pace, and we try to stick to that. We do not have a website or any flashy brochures. If you need us, you just come to the house in Nayapara. Most of us have known each other since we were kids, which makes working together a lot easier. We handle everything from the grain collection to the final sales ourselves. It is hard work, especially when the weather does not cooperate, but we have got a good rhythm going now.
