Lakshmi Traders

Working at Plot No. 61/A on Kanawati Road is always a bit of a whirlwind. Being in the Industrial Area of Neemuch means there are trucks constantly backing in and out of the gates. Lakshmi Traders is basically just a big warehouse and a small side room where we sit and talk to people. We handle a lot of different goods, so the inventory is always changing. One week the floor is full of one thing, and by the next Monday, it’s all gone and replaced by something else. It’s physical work, moving crates and checking manifests. The dust from the road settles on everything, so we’re always wiping down the desks. Most of us here grew up nearby, so we know the local transporters and the shortcuts they take to avoid the main road traffic. We don't have a receptionist or a polished waiting room. If you show up, you just walk in and find whoever isn't currently carrying a heavy load. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the prices of things fluctuating. It’s just the way life is in an industrial zone. Some days the heat is really something else, and we have to slow down, but usually, we’re just focused on getting the orders loaded and sent out before the sun goes down. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday.
