Our office for Maa Ghatarani Swabhiman Farmer Producer Company Limited is right near the Bazar Chowk in Tarighat village. It’s part of the Rajim tehsil in the Phingeshwar area, not too far from Raipur. We are a collective of farmers from this region. Being near the market square makes it easy for us to get together and see what’s going on in the local trade. We don't have a fancy building. It’s just a practical space where we can organize our farming activities. Most of us have been farming these lands for generations. We decided to form this company to help ourselves and our neighbors get better results from our hard work. We focus on the basics like seeds, fertilizers, and getting our crops to the market. Life in Tarighat revolves around the farming seasons. When it’s time to sow, everyone is busy. When it’s harvest time, it’s even more hectic. We aren't here to make big promises. We just want to work together so that we can all do a bit better. The heat in this part of Chhattisgarh can be something else, but we just keep going. We meet up at the office near the bazaar to discuss our plans. It’s an honest, local way of doing things. We don't need corporate talk to describe our daily lives. We just grow our food and manage the business as a group.
