Surabhi Earth Movers

Started out here in Paravadi, right on Old Vavdi Road. It is usually pretty dusty around here because of the work we do. Being in Gayatrinagar in Bhavnagar means we get a lot of sun, which is tough on the equipment. Most mornings start with checking the oil in the backhoes and making sure everything is greased up properly. The yard isn’t fancy. There is a small office where the ceiling fan rattles a bit, but it does the job for us. My cousin usually handles the phone calls while I am out looking at the machines or checking on a site. We have been here a while now, so the neighbors know us by the sound of the engines warming up at seven. Sometimes the ground gets really hard in the summer, which makes digging a real pain. We just get through it one day at a time. There is a tea stall down the road where we grab a cup when things slow down. It is a lot of manual work and getting dirt under your fingernails. We don’t have a big corporate team or anything like that. Just a few guys who know how to handle the heavy stuff. Sometimes the machines break down and we spend the whole afternoon covered in grease trying to fix a hydraulic leak. That is just how it goes in this business. The road outside is always busy with tractors and trucks going by. It is a loud place to work, but we are used to it by now.
