Our setup is out on Canal Road, specifically at Plot No: 1028 in Jagadalpur. To get here, you usually come via Nimakhandi. Being near the canal is pretty handy for what we do with fisheries. It’s a bit out of the way compared to the city center, but for fish work, it’s exactly where we need to be located. We have been working from this Jagadalpur address for a good while, handling the day-to-day tasks of a fishing business. There is always a smell of the water and nets around the place. We deal with local catch and help get it sorted and sent off to the vendors. It’s physical work, mostly. We are often up before the sun to see what the early morning brings in from the water. The roads around Nimakhandi can be a bit bumpy during the monsoon, but we’re used to it. We don’t have a flashy storefront or anything like that. It’s mostly just the warehouse space and the office where we keep the logs and the receipts. Sometimes the water levels in the canal change how we do things, but we just adapt as we go. It’s a living, and it’s what we know how to do. People in the area know us as the fish folks on Canal Road. We just keep things simple, focus on the fish, and try to make sure we don’t fall behind on the orders coming in from the nearby town.
