Sreekanta Welfare Association

Our group is called Sreekanta Welfare Association. We are located at Jambhubati Pradhan’s place in Kelua. That’s in the Surangi area, part of the Ganjam district near Berhampur. The pin code is 761004. It’s a rural setting, very different from the noise of the main city. We’ve been operating from this spot for some time now. It’s not a formal office with cubicles or anything like that. It’s more like a home where we gather to talk about what needs to be done. We focus on the things happening right here in our village and the surrounding district. Everyone knows everyone around here. You can’t really hide if you’re not doing your job. We like it that way. It keeps us accountable to our neighbors. We don't have a website or fancy brochures. If you want to know about us, you just come to Kelua and ask. We try to help out with local issues whenever they pop up. Sometimes it’s about water, other times it’s about the local roads or helping a family in need. We aren't looking for fame. We just want to make sure things are okay in our little corner of Ganjam. It’s hard work sometimes, especially when the weather is bad or the roads get muddy, but we stick together. It’s a humble place, and we don't have much, but we make do with what's available to us. We just keep going every day.
