Sankar Eye Hospital

Sankar Eye Hospital is out in Samarajhola, which is part of the Ganjam district. We are specifically located in the Kanchudu area. It’s a bit of a drive for some, but we’ve been here serving this part of Odisha for quite some time now. The hospital is a fairly large building compared to the houses nearby. We mostly deal with eye problems, from basic vision checks to more involved stuff. The pace here is a bit different than the city hospitals. It can get very busy in the mornings when people travel from distant villages to see us. We have a lot of benches for people to sit on while they wait their turn. The hallways are long and we try to keep them cool during the summer months. Our staff speaks the local language and we know how hard it is for some folks to get here. We don't have fancy decorations on the walls. It’s all very functional and basic. We’ve got the testing rooms and the wards set up simply. Working in Ganjam means we see a lot of different people every day. We just try to get through the daily list and make sure everyone gets a turn to see the doctor. It’s a lot of responsibility to handle, but it’s just what we do here at Samarajhola. We are just a local hospital trying to help folks see a bit clearer.
