Rail Vikas Nigam Limited(Bhubaneswar)

We operate out of Hinjilicut in the Ganjam district of Orissa. Our office is on the 2nd Lane of Gayatri Nagar. It’s a small-town setup, run by people like Saroj Kanta Dash. We are a part of the bigger rail development network, but we handle the things happening right here in this part of the state. Working in a place like Hinjilicut is quite different from being in a major metro. We know the local area well. Most of our work involves checking on project sites nearby and making sure the local needs are being met for the railway expansion. It’s a lot of grassroots coordination. We don't have a shiny office with air conditioning in every corner. It’s just a plain room where we keep our records and meet with people involved in the construction. The work can be slow sometimes because of logistics, but we keep at it. People in Ganjam know where to find us if there is something to discuss regarding the rail lines. We aren't here to sell anything. We just do the job of managing the development as it was planned. It’s a quiet life here, focused on the tracks and the infrastructure. Being in Gayatri Nagar means we are close to the community we are serving. It is honest work without any corporate polish. We just want to see the trains running on new tracks through our own district one day soon.
