Our spot is at C-30 in the I.R.E. Colony, located in Matikhalo near Chatrapur. Being in Ganjam, Orissa, we are quite close to the industrial areas, so there is always a bit of noise and activity around. The colony is a bit of a world of its own, with people living and working all in the same vicinity. Our office is basically a converted house or a simple unit within the colony grounds. We’ve got the usual setup—desks, chairs, a water cooler that always seems to be empty, and plenty of files. The atmosphere is very casual. We don't wear ties or anything like that. Most of us just wear our work clothes and get straight to it. The sea is not too far away, so sometimes you get that salty air, but mostly it’s just the smell of the nearby worksites. We spend our time managing the schedules and making sure the local crew has what they need. It’s a lot of face-to-face talking rather than emails. We have been here for a good while, so we know the security guards and the other folks in the colony pretty well. It’s a functional place that serves its purpose without needing to look impressive to outsiders. We keep our tools and paperwork organized as best as we can given the limited space we have in this unit. It's just a regular workday here every day.
