Khalsa Engineering Works

We've been at the Jamuna Thapa location on Main Road for a good while now. It’s right near Padmanava College of Engineering, so most folks around here know the spot. Khalsa Engineering Works is just a local shop where we handle various mechanical jobs and repairs. We spend most of our days in the workshop dealing with tools and metal. It gets pretty loud and dusty, but that’s the nature of this kind of work. People stop by when they need something fixed or built. We don't have a big front office or anything fancy. Usually, there’s grease on our hands and a lot of scrap around the yard. We try to get things done as they come in. Sometimes we’re backed up, other times it’s quiet. Living and working near the college means there's always traffic passing by. We focus on the task at hand. If someone brings in a part that needs welding or machining, we just look at it and see what can be done. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but the shop stays mostly the same. We keep our tools organized as much as possible, though the floor is never really clean. If you're driving down Main Road, you'll see us there. Nothing too complicated about it. We just open up in the morning and stay until the work for the day is finished. We enjoy the routine.
