Asst Engineer

This is the office for the Asst Engineer in Berhampur. We are based out of Chandra Prava Street-1, specifically care of Ladu Kishore Pradhan’s place. It’s a local spot that most people in this part of Ganjam know if they live around here. The street is usually full of activity, with people coming and going. The office itself is quite modest. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just the essentials for engineering work. There are stacks of folders everywhere because there’s always something to be documented or checked twice. Being in Orissa, the weather can be a bit unpredictable, so we’ve seen our share of rainy days where the water drips near the window. We just put a bucket down and keep working. It’s a very hands-on kind of environment. I spend a lot of time on the phone or writing down notes on whatever scrap of paper is handy. Ladu Kishore Pradhan is well-known around here, so it helps people find us. We don’t go in for anything fancy or corporate. It’s just about getting the daily tasks done and making sure the technical side of things is handled. It’s a small team, and we all know our roles. Sometimes it’s stressful when deadlines are close, but mostly it’s just the regular rhythm of a local engineering office. You get used to the sounds of the street and the constant hum of the ceiling fan while you work.
