Mahalaxmi Tiles

Down in Bellary at the O. S. B. area, you will find Mahalaxmi Tiles. It is a dusty place because of all the stone and ceramic moving around. We spend most of the day loading and unloading trucks. The sun gets really hot out here, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early. We have rows of different tiles leaning against the walls. Some are plain and some have patterns, but mostly they are just heavy. We have been doing this for years. My clothes always have a bit of white dust on them by the time I go home. The office is just a small corner with a table and a ledger book where we write everything down. We don't have a computer system that works all the time, so the book is better. Sometimes people come in looking for a specific color to match their old floor. We spend a lot of time digging through the back of the yard to find it. It is honest work and it keeps us tired. The neighbors are mostly other industrial shops, so it gets loud with the trucks. We just keep our heads down and move the crates. There is no point in making it sound like something it isn't. It is just a tile yard in Bellary. We open the gates at eight and stay until the last truck is gone. The guys here are used to the heavy work. We talk about regular stuff while we carry the slabs.
