Washi Garments

Our place, Washi Garments, is located in Marlanandi, which is very close to RG Road. It is not a very large shop, but we have enough space for our sewing machines and a cutting table. The area around Marlanandi is a mix of homes and small workshops like ours. Being near RG Road is helpful for getting our supplies delivered, even if the traffic can be a bit of a headache in the evenings. The building we are in is quite simple, with a tin roof that makes a lot of noise when it rains. We don't have any decorations on the walls, just some calendars and hooks for our bags. The work we do is straightforward. We take the fabric, cut it according to the patterns, and stitch everything together. We are a small group, so everyone knows how to do a bit of everything. There is no boss in a suit here; we all just wear our regular clothes and work alongside each other. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to sit and wait for it to come back on. During those times, we usually sit by the door and watch the people going by on the street. It is a basic way to earn a living, but it works for us. We just keep making garments day after day.
