Hindusthan Hardware

Hindusthan Hardware is located on Navali Road in Karatagi. It’s a good spot because a lot of people pass by on their way into town. The shop isn't very big, but we try to keep a bit of everything on hand. We’ve got bags of cement stacked in the back and smaller items like nails, hinges, and locks in the glass cases up front. Working in Karatagi means we see a lot of the same faces every week. Farmers come in looking for tools, and local builders stop by for supplies. The Navali Road can get pretty dusty, so we’re always wiping down the counters and the displays. It’s a bit of a struggle to keep everything clean, but that’s just how it is. We don't have a big corporate office or a marketing team. It’s just me and a couple of helpers who know where everything is kept. We use a simple ledger to write down the sales and keep track of what we need to order next. The shop feels a bit cramped when we get a new shipment of heavy goods, but we manage. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in the district; we just want to be the place where neighbors can find what they need for their homes. It’s a steady life, and we like being part of the Karatagi community.
