Sudha Bashanalaya

Sudha Bashanalaya has been here in Kaestopara for quite some time. We are tucked away in South Dinajpur, serving the local families around here. Mostly, we deal with steel pots, brass items, and all the regular kitchen stuff people use daily. It started small and it’s still pretty much a local operation. The shop is filled with stacks of plates and heavy cooking vessels. You have to be careful walking between the aisles so you don’t knock anything over. My father used to handle things, and now I’m the one mostly sitting at the counter. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just walk in from the nearby villages when they need to buy a gift for a wedding or replace an old kadhai. Dealing with the heat in the summer is the hardest part because the metal gets warm, but we have a good ceiling fan that helps a bit. Sometimes the supply trucks are late because the roads can be rough in this district, but we always have enough in the back. It’s a quiet life here. We open early in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. We know most of our customers by name. If someone needs a specific size of tiffin box, we try to order it for them. It’s just how we do things here in Kaestopara. No big fuss, just honest work selling things that last.
