We are situated at No. 143B Gurudwara Road, which is a fairly easy place to find if you know the landmark nearby. Arun Interlay Pvt. Ltd. isn't a massive factory, but we have enough space to do our work properly. Most of what we do involves looking at floor patterns and how the different stones fit together. It is more detailed than just selling big slabs. We spend a lot of time on the floor, literally, checking how things align. The shop has a bit of a cluttered feel because there are always samples and offcuts lying around. People walk in from the street to ask questions, and we try to help them figure out what might work for their specific project. It’s not always easy because people have different ideas and stones can be tricky. We’ve had some of the same workers for years, and they know the stones better than anyone. Gurudwara Road gets pretty busy in the evenings, so we try to get our loading done early in the morning when it’s quieter. There is a lot of back-and-forth with suppliers and making sure the transport is sorted out. It’s a practical business, and we don't spend money on shiny signs or big marketing. We just focus on the task at hand and try to make sure the measurements are right so there are no problems later on when the stones are being laid.
