Brahmani Bricks

If you drive down Shertha Uvarsad Road, you will find Brahmani Bricks. We have been here for a long time, right on the side of the road where the land is open. Making bricks is honest work that involves a lot of dirt, water, and fire. Our days start very early, often before the sun is fully up, because we have to beat the worst of the heat. You can see the tall stacks of finished bricks from quite a distance away. It’s a dusty place, and everyone working here usually ends the day covered in that reddish-brown color from the clay. We don’t have a fancy office building, just a small spot to sit and talk to people who pull over in their trucks. Most of our time is spent out in the yard checking on the kilns or making sure the molding is going right. The weather really dictates what we can do; if it rains, everything slows down, and we have to cover the raw bricks. People from the local area know us because we’ve been at this same spot on Shertha Uvarsad Road for so long. We aren't trying to be the biggest operation around, just a steady one that stays busy. It is hard work on the back and hands, but there is something nice about seeing the stacks grow every week. We just keep our heads down and keep the fire going.
