Out here in Village Santej, things move at a slightly different pace. We are Technomec Roll Manufacturing Cooperative Private Limited. You can find us at Block 859. Being in Kalol N. G. means we are a bit away from the main city noise, which is fine by us. The work we do involves a lot of heavy machinery for the roll manufacturing part of the business. It gets pretty loud inside the building when everything is running at once. The village surroundings are mostly quiet except for the trucks coming in to pick up orders. We have a good group of people here who have been working together for a long time. It is a cooperative, so we all feel like we have a stake in how things go day to day. The floor of the shop is usually covered in some kind of metal shavings or oil, but that is expected with this kind of manufacturing. We don't spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders. It is a functional space meant for hard work. Block 859 is where we spend the bulk of our lives. Most of the staff lives nearby in Santej or the surrounding areas of Kalol. We just keep the machines maintained and keep the production going. It isn't a glamorous life, but it is honest work and it keeps the lights on. The days are long but we don't mind it much.
