Our place is at Plot No. A-3 in the GIDC Electronics Estate, over in Sector-25. It is a dedicated area for electronics, so we have a lot of similar companies as neighbors. SMEC Electronics India Pvt. Ltd. is printed on a small sign near the entrance. The estate is generally well-kept, though the roads have a few potholes here and there. Inside, it is much cleaner than a typical factory because of the electronics work. We have to keep the dust down as much as possible. The lighting is bright, and everyone wears those lab coats sometimes. It feels very different from the heavy industrial sectors. We have a small area for visitors, but it is mostly just a couple of chairs and a table with some old magazines. The walk from the main gate of the estate to our plot takes about five minutes. There is a canteen nearby that serves decent snacks in the afternoon. We spend most of our time at the benches. It is quiet work for the most part. No loud banging or heavy machinery noises here. Sometimes the power fluctuates, but the backup kicks in so we don't lose our progress. It is a steady environment. We don't really do much besides focus on the boards and components we have to deal with every day. It’s just how we get things done.
