Shapoorji Palonji & Co Ltd.

We don’t really have a fancy street name to give people, just Plot No: 18. It is one of those spots where you have to know where you are going or you will drive right past it without even noticing. Shapoorji Palonji & Co Ltd. uses this plot as a home base for the current work we are doing in the area. It’s mostly just a fenced area with some portable cabins and a small brick structure where we keep the main desk and the telephone. It is pretty basic. We have a couple of plastic chairs for visitors, but we don’t really get many people just dropping by unless they are looking for work or delivering supplies. The ground is mostly gravel and dirt, so our boots are always a mess by the end of the day. We have a small table in the corner where we eat our lunch together. Usually, it's just something we brought from home or picked up at a food stall nearby. The office itself is always humming with the sound of the air conditioner trying its best to keep up with the heat. It isn’t a corporate headquarters with a lobby and a receptionist. It is just us, a few computers, and a lot of site maps pinned to the walls. We spend our hours tracking the progress of the builds and making sure the supplies arrive when they should. It is quiet except for the trucks. We like it that way because we can actually get things done without too much noise from the city center.
