Unison Electroics

Our spot at B 40 in the GIDC Electronics Estate is one of many similar units in this large industrial area. It is a big zone, so there is always a lot of activity with people moving parts and finished goods around on pallets. Inside Unison Electroics, we have a very simple setup for the assembly work we do. There are long benches where we sit and work on various electronic components. It is quiet work for the most part, except for the sound of the ceiling fans and the occasional tool being used. We have some metal racks where we keep all the inventory organized so we can find what we need without searching too long. The floor is just plain grey concrete, and we try to keep it swept, though dust always finds its way in from the estate roads outside. We don't have a formal reception area or a place for guests to sit. If you come through the main door, you are pretty much standing right where the daily work happens. We take our breaks together and usually just talk about whatever is going on in the neighborhood. The lighting is bright and industrial, which helps us see the small parts we handle all day long. We have been in this building for several years now, and we have gotten used to the rhythm of the estate. Most days are just about hitting our targets.
