About Paresh Handlooms – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Gandhinagar
Paresh Handlooms is right near the bus stop in Ridrol. Our building is called Gayatri Krupa. If you are coming through Mansa in the Gandhinagar district, you can’t really miss the spot since the bus stops right there. It’s a local place. We have been doing handloom work for many years. It’s a tradition in this area. Inside, you will hear the sound of the looms. It is a rhythmic sound that we have grown used to. The air usually has a bit of lint in it from the cotton. We work with a few local weavers. It is not a massive factory. It is more of a community effort. We show up, we check the threads, and we see what progress was made the day before. Sometimes the colors don't come out exactly as planned, so we have to adjust. That is the thing with handmade stuff; it isn't always perfect like a machine. We sell to people who pass by and also send some orders to the city. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. The bus stop brings in a bit of foot traffic. We usually have a pot of tea going in the corner. It's a simple life and the work is steady. We take pride in what we make, even if we don't talk about it much.
