Paras Vijay Bricks

We spend most of our days out here on Uvarsad Road. If you know Village Adalaj, you know it gets quite dusty around the kilns. My family has been doing this for a while now. We just focus on making bricks. It’s not fancy work at all. You get mud on your clothes and the sun is usually pretty harsh during the afternoon shift. We have a lot of stacks piled up near the entrance. Sometimes the trucks come late, and we just sit around and talk until they arrive. It's a simple life. The bricks are what they are. We don't try to make them sound like something they're not. They are red, they are heavy, and they build walls. People from around here know where we are. We've seen the area change quite a bit over the years. More traffic on the road now than there used to be. Usually, there's a few of us drinking tea near the gate in the morning. We start early because once the heat hits, it's tough to stay by the fire. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. There isn't much more to say about it. If someone needs bricks for a house or a wall, they stop by. We check the stock, load the tractor, and that’s the day finished. It’s hard on the hands but it’s what we know.
