Opensource Community Foundation

We are based out of Gandhinagar, located right across from Shaligram Lake in the Khoraj area. Our office is in A201 at Vaishnavi Gardenview. It’s a pretty nice spot, and if you look out the window at the right time, you can see the water, which is a nice break from looking at screens all day. We call ourselves the Opensource Community Foundation. We’re mostly focused on technology and trying to help people get a better handle on how to use it. This isn't a corporate office with cubicles and water coolers; it’s more like a shared living space where we have all our computers set up on whatever surfaces were available. We spend a huge amount of our time on our laptops, just working through different technical problems. Being in Khoraj is great because it’s a bit more relaxed and slower-paced than the middle of Ahmedabad. We have neighbors in the building who stop by every now and then just to see what we are working on. We don’t have a big marketing budget or any fancy PR people. We just do our work and hope that it ends up being useful to someone out there. The internet connection here is usually pretty reliable, which is a big relief for us. Sometimes we stay quite late when we’re in the middle of a big project and lose track of time. It’s just a few of us who really care about this.
