If you're looking for us, we’re up on the first floor of Surya Complex in Jasdan. It’s Shop Number 3. You have to walk up those narrow stairs, which can be a bit of a pain if you’re carrying anything heavy. Jasdan is a busy place, and Rajkot is just a drive away, so there’s always something happening in the streets below. We spend most of our time in this office handling the steel side of things. It’s not a huge space, but it fits what we need. You can hear the traffic and the people shouting in the market from the window. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, and we just sit and wait it out with some cold water. We aren't a big corporate outfit with hundreds of people. It’s just a few of us making sure the orders for the steel go where they need to go. We’ve got stacks of files and a computer that’s seen better days, but it gets the job done. Customers come in and sit on the stools, talking about the prices or the weather. It’s a simple way to work. We don’t have those fancy coffee machines, just a local tea guy who brings us a cutting every afternoon. People in Surya Complex all know each other, so it feels like a little community on this floor. It’s just our daily life here in the middle of town. We keep the door propped open for some air.
