K B Associates

Our office at K B Associates is at number 11 in the Varashi Estate. We are right near the railway crossing on Gota Road, which means we hear the trains go by several times a day. You eventually stop jumping when the whistle blows, but it makes phone calls a bit interesting when you have to pause for the noise. Gota is a busy area and the road outside is almost always congested with scooters and rickshaws. The estate itself is a bit of a maze, with different small businesses tucked into every corner. Our place is small and we’ve filled it up with as many shelves as we could fit along the walls. It’s a bit cluttered with paperwork and samples, but we know where everything is, mostly. We don't have a big sign or a fancy entrance. It’s just a plain door in a row of other doors. Most of our day is spent at our desks, but we often step outside to talk to the neighbors or grab a quick tea when the train gate is closed and everything comes to a standstill. The building is older, so the walls have some cracks and the paint is peeling a bit in the corners where the damp gets in. It doesn't really matter though, because the work gets done and we have a good group of people here. The bell at the crossing is a constant background noise that we just don't notice anymore.
