D. Raja Cotex Llp is out in Budasan, which is part of the Kadi taluka. We are at number 18 in the Jay Ambe Industrial Estate. If you’ve ever been to Kadi, you know it’s a big hub for cotton. The industrial estate is always full of activity. Tractors and trucks are constantly moving in and out with loads of raw material. Our unit isn't huge, but it's where everything happens. We spend most of our time out on the floor rather than sitting in an office. It’s dusty because of all the cotton fibers in the air, but that’s just part of the job. Budasan is a small place, so everyone knows everyone else in the estate. We share news and tea with the people in the neighboring units. We don’t have a fancy website or a glossy brochure. We just show the quality of the cotton we handle. The work is physical and the days are long. When the season is at its peak, we’re here from early morning until late at night. There’s a certain rhythm to it that you get used to. It’s a practical life, far away from the big city lights. We just focus on the bales and making sure the machinery stays running. It’s a simple operation, run by people who know the trade. We don't need much else to keep us satisfied with our day.
