Crystal By Tarun Designer Private Limited is tucked away in Shivaji Gali at Bhagwan Das Kothi. Gandhi Nagar is a maze, and we are right in the thick of it at IX/6144. We’ve been working out of this spot for a long time. It’s a designer business, but not the kind you see on TV. We do the actual work of making the clothes right here. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the shelves are always overflowing with different types of trimmings and beads. We spend hours every day looking at details. It’s just me and a small crew of tailors. We don’t have a big corporate office or a sales team. We just take orders and try to make them look good. People come to us because we’ve been around and we know how to handle the work. It’s a bit chaotic in the gali, with people moving goods back and forth all day. We just keep our heads down and focus on the sewing. It’s not always easy, especially when customers change their minds at the last minute, but we deal with it. We’re just a local shop trying to make nice things without making a big fuss about it. That’s our daily life here. Sometimes we stay late to finish a specific piece because the client needs it for a function. It's just part of the job. Tarun spends a lot of time on the floor sketching things out. It’s not glamorous, despite the name. It’s mostly just fabric, thread, and sweat. We’ve built a decent reputation here by just being consistent.
