Apeksha Charitable Foundation

We are based out of bunglow number 6 at A One Bunglows, which is right near the ICICI Bank on New CG Road in Chandkheda. It is a decent part of Ahmedabad to work in, though the traffic on CG Road can be a real headache during the evening rush hour. We decided to use this bunglow for Apeksha Charitable Foundation because it felt more like a home and less like a cold office building. We have a few rooms set up with very basic furniture where we meet with people who need us. It is not formal at all. You might see some laundry hanging out to dry in the back or a neighbor’s cat wandering through the front yard while we are in the middle of a meeting. We don’t really mind that. It makes the whole place feel real and comfortable for everyone. We spend a lot of our time answering the phone and talking to people who have heard about what we do from their friends. We try to be helpful without making a big production out of it. There is no corporate ladder here, just a couple of us trying to manage the daily chores and tasks. Sometimes we run out of basic supplies like pens or the old printer stops working, and we just have to figure it out as we go along. It is a humble setup, but it really suits the kind of work we do. We like being in Chandkheda.
