Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohern Limited has its office at Six 50, Janatha Colony, which is quite close to the railway station in Adipur. Being near the station means we hear the trains coming and going all day long, which is something you just get used to after a week or two. It’s a busy little pocket of Kutch. The office is tucked away in a spot that isn't too hard to find if you know the colony. We handle a lot of the administrative side of the steel pipe business from here. The desks are covered in folders and various bits of stationery. We aren't big on interior design; we just need a place to sit and get the work done. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the floor has some scuff marks from all the boots coming in and out. Most of the guys here have been working in the industry for years, so they know the ins and outs of the trade. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep the energy up. When the weather is nice, we might stand outside for a minute to watch the commuters heading toward the station. It’s a simple life, focused on making sure the business side of things doesn’t fall behind. We don't try to make it sound more important than it is. We just do the work, look after the paperwork, and head home.
