Our place is located in Gandhidham, specifically over at 232/1 in the New Nagori Plot. It’s right near the Galpadhar Road Corner. If you’ve ever been to this part of Kachchh, you know it can get pretty dusty and windy. Vandana Timber Pvt. Ltd. is basically where we spend most of our daylight hours. We handle a lot of wood. It’s heavy work, and our hands usually have a few splinters by the end of the week. The yard is usually full of stacks of timber. It doesn't look like much from the road, just a lot of brown and grey piles, but we know where everything is. We don’t have a fancy showroom. It’s more of a practical setup for people who actually need wood for building things. Sometimes the trucks coming off Galpadhar Road make a lot of noise, but that’s just how it is here. My cousin helps out sometimes, and we have a few guys who have been with us for years. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in Kachchh, just a steady one. We drink a lot of tea while we work. The weather here can be really hot in the summer, so we start early to beat the heat. It’s a straightforward life. We sell the wood, move the logs, and go home when the sun goes down. Nothing more to it. We just keep working through the piles and keeping things moving.
