We are located out in Gandhidham, Gujarat. If you’ve ever been here, you know it’s a place that revolves around the port and the big ships coming in and out. Our office at Unified Shipping Agencies Llp India is where we handle the paperwork that keeps things moving. It’s not a very big space, but it’s usually filled with files, manifests, and maps. The air here always has a bit of salt and dust in it because of all the trucks and the proximity to the water. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking schedules to see when a container is going to arrive. It’s a lot of waiting followed by a lot of rushing around. Most of us here have grown up around the shipping industry so we don't really know any other way to work. The office gets quite warm during the day, even with the fans going, but you get used to the Gujarat weather after a while. We aren't trying to be some giant global corporation with a shiny lobby. We’re just a group of people who know how to get cargo from the docks to where it needs to go. Sometimes the paperwork gets messy or there’s a delay at the customs, but that’s just part of the job. We keep a pot of tea going and just work through the lists until everything is sorted for the day.
