The Gandhidham Mercantile Co-op Bank Ltd.

The Gandhidham Mercantile Co-op Bank Ltd. has been operating out of our own building, the G M C B Bhavan, for quite some time. We are situated at Plot No. 12 in Sector 9, right here in Gandhidham, Kachchh. It’s a pretty easy location to find if you’re familiar with this part of town. We are a co-operative bank, which basically means we work with the local people around here. It isn't a massive skyscraper or anything, just a functional building where we handle savings, loans, and all the usual stuff. The office gets quite busy in the mornings when people come in to deposit cash or update their passbooks. We have a small staff and most of us have lived in Kachchh our whole lives. We know a lot of the customers by name because they’ve been coming to us for years. The building is sturdy and does what it needs to do. There is some parking out front, though it fills up fast on Mondays. We don't have fancy automated machines for everything; we still like talking to people across the counter. It feels more natural that way. Sector 9 is a good area for us, fairly central for the community. We just keep things moving, making sure the ledgers are right and the community has a place to keep their money safe. It’s simple, honest work that we do every day.
