Our office for Taurus Timber Pvt. Ltd. is on the first floor of Plot No. 326 in Sector 1/a. We’re out here in Gandhidham-Kachchh. Since we’re upstairs, we get a bit of a view of the street, which is usually full of timber trucks. You can smell the wood as soon as you get close to this sector. We deal with various types of timber and wood products. It’s mostly about managing logs and planks coming from the port. The office is pretty basic, just some wooden desks and a lot of ledgers. It gets quite dusty because of all the wood yards around us. We’ve been in Gandhidham for a long time, so we know how the local port works. The sun is really strong here in Kachchh, so the walls of the building are thick to keep the heat out. We don’t have any fancy brochures. People who need timber know where to find us. We spend a lot of time on the phone negotiating prices or checking on delivery schedules. It’s a small group of us working here. Sometimes we have tea together in the afternoon and talk about the news. It’s a quiet place for the most part, except for the trucks rumbling by outside. We just focus on the wood business and try to keep things organized. That’s about it for us. We just handle the timber and keep the records straight.
