Gandhidham is a place that feels like it’s always on the move, mostly because of the port. Our spot, Smita Exim Pvt Ltd, is over at Plot No. 189 in Sector-4. If you spend any time in Kutch, you know the dust and the sun are just part of the deal. We handle a lot of different things here, mostly focusing on the import and export side of things. It’s a lot of paperwork and making sure the containers are where they need to be. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a practical space where we can get the job done. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing and other days it's just quiet with the sound of the fan overhead. We’ve been at this for a while, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the sector. Most of the people around here are doing similar work, so there’s always a bit of talk about shipping schedules and cargo. We usually grab lunch from the local place down the road. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know. We aren't trying to be the biggest, just trying to make sure our daily tasks are finished properly. The trucks come in and out of the plot area all day, and that’s just how it goes in this part of Gandhidham. We like the area, even with the heat. It is just a regular office for regular work.
