Skanda Maritime Engineering Co. is located over at Plot No-753/754 in Sector-5. We’re part of the Saurashtra Society area, right in Ramnath Bhuvan. It’s a solid building, nothing flashy, but it works for what we do. Engineering in the maritime sector is mostly about getting your hands dirty and figuring out why a part isn't fitting right. We spend a lot of time looking at drawings and then looking at actual metal pieces that don't always behave. The shop floor can get pretty loud when the machines are all running at once. We’ve got a small team here. Most of us have been doing this for years, so we don't need much direction. We just know what needs to be fixed. The office part is mostly just for filing paperwork and having a quick tea. We don't really do big meetings with slide shows. Usually, we just stand around a workbench and talk through a problem. The area around here is mostly other businesses like ours, so there’s always trucks coming and going. Sometimes the parking is a nightmare, but we manage. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to do the engineering work correctly so the ships stay out on the water like they’re supposed to. It’s honest work, and we like the routine of it all. People often drop by without calling first, and we don't mind. We just wipe our hands and see what they need. It’s a relaxed way to work together.
