Shree Gayatri Weigh Bridge

We’ve been set up here right near the K S E Z and across from those big F C I godowns for a while now. Being on the National Highway in Gandhidham means there is always a lot of truck traffic moving through the area. Most days for us involve just keeping the scales running right and making sure drivers can get their tickets without waiting too long in the heat. It’s pretty dusty out here with all the construction and lorries, but we stay busy. People around here know us as Shree Gayatri Weigh Bridge. We mostly deal with the trucks coming in and out of the food warehouses. Sometimes the equipment acts up because of the salt in the air or the really heavy loads, but we get it fixed. It’s not a fancy job by any stretch. We just check the weights and keep things moving along the highway. My brother and a couple of others help run the place from the small cabin. We start very early because that’s when the first queues usually form near the godowns. If you are driving towards Kachchh, you will see our sign right by the side of the road. There isn’t much to say about a weighbridge other than we try to stay honest and keep the machines calibrated. The small tea stall nearby is where we spend our breaks when the traffic slows down for a bit. It is just a local spot for drivers.
