Shradha Traders

We’ve been here at D. B. Z. North 79 for quite a while now. Most days start the same way. We open up the shutters, sweep out the dust that blew in from the Gandhidham roads overnight, and put the kettle on for some tea. It gets pretty hot here in Kachchh, especially in the afternoons when the sun is really beating down on the roof. Shradha Traders isn't a fancy place with big signs or anything like that. It’s just us working through the orders and making sure everything is where it should be. Sometimes the neighbors from the other shops drop by to chat about the weather or the local news. We spend a lot of time checking the stock and talking to people who come through the door. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know. My cousin helps out most days, and we just keep things moving. We don't have a big office or anything, just a desk and some chairs where we sit when the work slows down for a minute. The traffic outside can get a bit loud, especially with the trucks passing through Gandhidham, but you get used to it after a few years. We just focus on the task at hand and try to get home before it gets too late. It’s just an honest day's work for us here. We like the routine of it all, even on the days when things are a bit messy or slow.
