Our place is tucked away in the Gandhidham Railway Colony, specifically at Quarter 222/A. It’s a bit of a unique spot to be doing metal work, but it’s where Sudhir Kumar Sahoo set things up and it works for us. Kutch is a dry place, and the wind carries a lot of dust from the surrounding areas, so we’re always cleaning off the workbenches. Being near the railway colony means there’s always the sound of trains in the background, which you eventually just stop noticing after a few months. We deal with various metal parts and scraps, mostly just processing what's needed for the local requirements. The space isn’t huge, so we have to stay organized, or everything would just become a giant pile of iron and steel. Most of our days are spent cutting or shaping pieces, and then figuring out the logistics of moving them out of the colony area. It’s a quiet life in some ways, but the work itself is physically demanding. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that; people usually find us through word of mouth or because they’re already in the Gandhidham area. We keep some basic tools and a couple of heavy machines running most of the day. It’s just a small operation trying to stay busy and keep the orders flowing as best as we can given the limited space we have here in the colony.
