Our place, Taurus Timber Pvt Ltd, is located on the second floor of Plot Number 326 in Sector Number 1/A. It might seem a bit odd for a timber business to be on the second floor, but we make it work with the lifts. Carrying heavy wood samples up and down keeps us all in decent shape, that’s for sure. The whole office smells like sawdust and fresh pine most days, which is actually quite nice compared to the fumes outside. We spend our time talking to suppliers and looking over stacks of inventory lists. The sector is usually pretty quiet, though you get the occasional truck rumbling by to the warehouse next door. We keep a few desks near the windows so we can see what’s happening on the street below. Most of our staff have been around since the beginning, so we’re a tight-knit group. We don't have fancy furniture in the breakroom, just a couple of old chairs and a kettle that takes forever to boil. It’s a practical space. We don't spend much on decorations because we’d rather have more room for the wood samples. Sometimes the paperwork gets piled up on the desks, especially at the end of the month when everyone is rushing. We just sort through it one piece at a time. It’s a steady kind of life here, working with wood and making sure the orders go out to the right places.
