About Bombay Printing Press – Packaging Machines & Materials in Gandhidham
Down at Plot No 73/74 in Sector 11 of the G I D C in Gandhidham, you’ll find the Bombay Printing Press. It’s a noisy place because the presses are almost always running. The smell of ink is the first thing you notice when you walk through the door. We’ve got paper stacks everywhere—on tables, on the floor, and sometimes even in the breakroom. It’s a bit of a jumble, but we have a system that works for us. Kachchh is a good place to be based, though it gets incredibly hot in the summer. We’ve been doing this for a long time, so we know the sound of a machine that’s about to have a problem before it even happens. We don’t have a big fancy office to show off. Most of our time is spent adjusting the rollers or checking the colors on a proof. It’s honest work and it feels good to see a finished book or flyer come off the line. We aren’t trying to be the most modern shop in the world; we just use what works and get the orders out on time. Sometimes we stay late to finish a big run, but that’s just how the printing business is. We’re just a bunch of folks who like the smell of fresh paper and the steady rhythm of the machines working through the night when the deadlines are tight.
