Down in Gandhidham, at Ward No. 10-b in Shaktinagar, is where you’ll find Rankars Agro Incorporation. Our address is D1-nu, which sounds a bit complicated, but once you’re in the neighborhood, it’s easy enough to spot. We’re close to the port area, so there’s always a salty smell in the air and a lot of trucks moving through the streets. Working in agro means we're always tied to the seasons. Some months are incredibly busy where we barely have time to sit down, and others are a bit slower. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers and checking on the weather. The office isn't anything special. It’s got a few desks, a computer that’s a bit slow, and plenty of space for samples. We’ve been here in Shaktinagar for a while now. Most of us live nearby, so it’s a short commute. We see the same faces every day at the local snack stall. We don't go in for big promises or fancy brochures. We just handle the grain or whatever else is coming through the port that week. It's hard work, and your hands get dirty, but it's what we know. The sun in Kutch is no joke, so the afternoon slump is real, but we push through. We just want to do a decent job and keep the business running for another year. It’s simple, honest work in a busy part of town and we like it that way.
