Even though the name says Gujarat, this office is actually located way down in Tamil Nadu. We are at 3/369-7, the Gopal Asari House in Avathipalayam. It’s near the Agraharam Post in the Namakkal district. It’s quite a journey if you were to drive from here to the main office in Gujarat. This area is known for its transport and poultry, so there are always trucks passing through. Our building is a traditional kind of house, nothing like a modern corporate office. We handle the local side of the steel business from this corner of the state. It’s usually pretty hot here, and the surroundings are full of green trees and small lanes. We’ve been here at this address for some time now. We don’t have a big team, just a few people who know the area and the business. There is no receptionist or a waiting room with magazines. If you come by, you’ll just find us working at our desks, probably drinking some local coffee. It’s a very practical arrangement. We deal with a lot of logistics because of all the lorries in Namakkal. It’s a lot of coordination and phone calls throughout the day. We just try to keep things simple and make sure the paperwork is correct for the shipments. It’s a long way from the factory, but we keep everything connected from this house without any fancy equipment.
