We are set up in the Tandla Special Economic Zone, right across from the Dena Bank. Gandhidham is a busy place with all the port activity and the various industrial zones nearby. Our building is No. 329. It’s a big, dusty area, and there’s always trucks moving around outside on the main roads. Inside our facility, it’s all about the clothing production. We have rows of machines and a lot of fabric rolls stacked up towards the back walls. The pace here is quite fast because of the export requirements and deadlines of the SEZ. We don't have time for a lot of fluff or long meetings. People come in, do their shifts, and we get the garments ready for transport. The weather gets really hot in this part of Gujarat, so we try to keep the workspace as comfortable as we can for everyone with fans and ventilation. It’s a very practical environment. We have some experienced tailors and cutters who have been doing this for years. They don’t need much instruction anymore. We just look at the designs and get to work. There’s a lot of noise from the nearby units too, but you stop noticing it after the first week of working here. We just focus on our own floor and making sure the stitching is solid before the boxes are taped up and sent to the port.
